SSE

Definition:
Short Service Employee (percentage - see comment)
Subject Area 1:
General
Remarks:
Shell defines a Short Service Employee as "Contractor Personnel with less than 6 months in the same job type or less than six months with their present employer". All SSE’s will be assigned a mentor for the first 6 months of employment. Studies show that in heavy industries up to 25% of injuries, or 1 in every 4 workers, will be injured within the first 30 days of starting work. Think of that – the first 30 days! The SSE target is 20% or less.
